Sorry guys for not posting in a while.  I have been busy and have not had much internet connection.  I don’t even know where to begin about my past two weeks.  I saw the Lord work in different ways and also was humbled in the past two weeks.  I went to a place called Paten and stayed there for a few days learning what was in store for my time there.  I ended up going into the jungle for 4 of my days there and it was the hardest 4 days of my race so far.

In the jungle I started in a place called Corralpek which was a very small village where the Mayan people lived.  Going into the jungle with our truck to get here we got stuck multiple times in mud and I had to get out and push the truck getting muddy from head to toe.  Going into this experience I knew I had to be positive and remember what it was for.  After riding for three hours we made it.  We took our gear to the school we were staying at which had dirt floors and no power.  I met two little boys and decided to give them my PB and J.  Come to find out they have never had a sandwich before.  The people that lived here live on the land.  Our ministry here was a VBS where we did worship, arts and crafts, sports ministry, and house visits.  I enjoyed doing these activities because I could see the joy these kids have.  When we washed we would hike to the river and rinse off.  The experience of washing in a river multiple days was humbling.  I was glad to be able to share the Gospel in this community and be apart of sharing who God is and how much they are loved.  I could see the joy these people had by us coming.  Seeing the way people lived here was eye opening because it is what they know.  I learned from this experience that being uncomfortable for the Lord can also be a physical thing, not just spiritual.  Having to walk in uncomfort made me be more thankful, humbled, and made me think about who this life is for.  God is teaching me that I am not entitled to anything but to live for Him and do what He says no matter how I feel.  The coolest part of this experience was being the first Americans to enter this village,I have always dreamed of being the first ethnicity in some place or the first to bring the Gospel and it actually happened.  When we first were seen by the people they were shy but eventually warmed up to us.

Seeing God work through me has been amazing because I can’t speak Spanish but yet when you do things in love people know.  Our actions speak louder than our words.  God can use you no matter where you are or what you are doing.

I want to give a shout out to One Way ministry for doing what you do.  You are people who walk by faith and bring hope, love, and joy to Guatemala.  The people of One Way serve with no salary and are willing to do anything to share the Gospel.  They also served and took care of us while with them.  If it is on your heart to give financially, One Way ministry could use your help and what you are giving to is going to make a difference.  One way is a ministry here in Guatemala trying to reach the unreached and bring hope to those who don’t have it.  They work a lot with kids and also different families in the communities.  There ultimate goal is to reach every village and town in Guatemala.  I believe in this ministry and what they are doing. If you feel led to donate here is the link.
